Cross-Site and Network Science

The FCE LTER is one of 28 sites in the U.S. LTER Network. Our scientists, staff, and students organize and participate in comparative research and education program involving other LTER sites and aid in different aspects of network governance.

    Evelyn Gaiser, John Kominoski

Evelyn Gaiser and John Kominoski led a cross-site effort to evaluate the influence of the anthropause - the pause in human activity associated with the COVID-19 pandemic as a pulse disturbance. To incentivize cross-system studies of pulsed disturbances, we evaluated how long-term studies may reveal the role the anthropause has played in changing feedbacks between people and ecosystems via altered ecosystem services. This multi-author manuscript was published in Ecosphere in 2022.
