Description:

Valve is rhombic, rhombic-lanceolate and linear-lanceolate with blunt ends; raphe is filiform, axial area is linear leading to a lanceolate central area; lineolate striae are radial ("brachysira-type") in the middle; length is 14-50µm, breadth is 5-8µm; striae count is 27-28 in 10µm (centre), becoming 30 in 10µm (apices)
