Everglades GIS Layers
While some of these layers were created by FCE (FCE LTER sites), most were created by other
organizations. Click on the links below to view
metadata and download information for each layer.
Includes maps showing the location of FCE LTER sites at various resolutions, as well as
other maps. Complete accuracy of maps cannot be guaranteed.
All maps are made available "as is". The Florida
Coastal Everglades LTER shall not be liable for damages
resulting from any use or misinterpretation of maps.

Vegetation Map and Digital Database of South Florida's National Park Service Lands

The vegetation shapefiles described below were reprojected to UTM, Zone 17, WGS 84 using ArcToolbox 8.3. Vegetation (generalized to 30m) (Display scale range = 1:100,000 - 1:750,000)
The vegetation shapefiles described below were reprojected to UTM, Zone 17, WGS 84 using ArcToolbox 8.3 and generalized to 30m in ArcView 3.3 using the Point & Polyline Tools v1.2 extension.
The Vegetation Map and Digital Database of South Florida's National Park Service Lands includes 89 shapefiles corresponding to USGS 7.5 minute quadrangles.
The Everglades Vegetation Classification System table includes the vegetation classes used in the shapefiles. You can also find this information in the Entity/Attribute section of each metadata file.
