Description:
Valve is linear-lanceolate with acute, rounded ends; axial area is narrow, distinct and appearing to be more heavily silicified than the rest of the valve (along with the central nodule); central area is often variable in size and transversely widened, but does not reach the valve margins; striae are radiate throughout most of the valve, becoming convergent at the ends; length is 40-120µm, breadth is 10-19µm; striae count is 10-12 in 10µm
