Description:
Valve is linear in shape, becoming weakly convex in the middle; ends are broad, tapering to an almost wedge-like shape; axial area is about 1/4 or 1/3 the valve breadth, becoming broader in the middle of the valve, where it meets an elliptical to rhombic-shaped central area; raphe is lateral, but becomes reverse-lateral close to the poles and the centre, meeting up with a round central pore in the valve centre, and having long, bayonet-shaped terminal ends in elliptical terminal areas; striae are radial at the centre, becoming convergent at the poles; length is 55-115µm, breadth is 8-16µm (length-to-breadth ration is 5.5:1-9:1); striae count is 9-14 in 10µm
