Description:
Valve is slightly sigmoid, lanceolate or linear-lanceolate with rather strongly attenuated, narrow, obtuse ends (which may be sometimes set off from the valve body) and relatively flat surface; axial area and raphe slightly sigmoid, becoming slightly eccentric towards the ends; central area is small, elongate-elliptic or rhombic; transverse striae (22-25 in 10µm) are slightly coarser and somewhat more conspicuous than diagonal striae (which cross at an angle of 46-53°, 25-28 in 10µm); length is 70-130µm, breadth is 13-17µm
