Description:
Frustules form long, straight filaments; valve has linear or slightly convex margins and attenuate-rostrate apices (this variety has distinctly rounded ends); pseudoraphe is very narrow, with no central area; striae are fine; length is 12-120µm, breadth is 5-10µm; striae count is 15-19 in 10µm
