Description:
Valve features are similar to Encyonema evergladianum, except for its length (it is longer than the nominate E. evergladianum, >30µm); valve is weakly dorsi-ventral, with a slight convexity to the dorsal margin and even less so to the ventral margin, and has slightly protracted ends; axial area is narrow and leads to a very small, round central area; raphe is filiform, straight; striae are parallel or slightly radiate in the centre of the valve, becoming slightly more radiate closer to the ends; striae count is ~19 in 10µm
