Description:
Valve is similar to Amphora holsatica in appearance, but more compact in structure; valves are moderately dorsally-convexed, with either rostrate or slightly capitate ends; ventral and dorsal sides of valve more or less parallel to each other; finely punctate striae are parallel to slightly radiate; raphe is fine and simple
Notes:
some valves show concavity on the ventral side
