Description:
Valve is narrowly linear-elliptical, with rostrate apices; raphid valve has narrow axial area leading to an irregularly shaped central area bordered by short striae, and radiate striae throughout; pseudoraphe valve has a narrow pseudoraphe with no central area, radiate striae throughout; both valves have striae that are difficult to distinguish; length is 5-40µm, breadth is 2-4µm; striae count is ~30 in 10µm at the centre becoming 36-38 in 10µm at the ends
