Description:
Valve shape is variable (elliptical, lanceolate, linear-lanceolate, linear) with variable ends; keel raphe has 7-9 fibulae in 10µm; striae appear more-or-less punctate; length is 6-50µm (up to 120µm in the tropics), breadth is 4-6µm; striae count is 13-18 in 10µm
