Description:
Valves semi-lanceolate with protracted, rostrate to sub-capitate ends deflected ventrally. Dorsal margin undulated; ventral margin more or less straight. Raphe branches straight, proximal and distal ends bent dorsally. Axial area narrow, linear. Dorsal striae parallel at the center, becoming radiate towards the ends, crossed by hyaline area clearly visible under LM especially along the raphe. Dorsal striae also crossed by thick longitudinal costae present in upper part of the valve, clearly visible under LM. Ventral striae absent.
