Findings

The FCE Human Dimensions (FCE HD) research centers on understanding the human dimensions of land use change as it affects local ecological dynamics in south Florida. This research aims to: (1) develop spatial models of land use decision-making, (2) connect FCE ecological research within Everglades National Park to regional land use/cover dynamics, and (3) adopt a methodology that facilitates cross-LTER site comparisons. Here we outline activities for two related FCE HD projects. To that end, we have been working on refining our research approach and collecting data on land use change in southern Dade county. These data sets include zoning, census and market data.
