Xavier Cortada hosted a FLOR 500 participatory, eco-art, Earth Day event with FCE LTER for Sweetwater Elementary's 2017 Earth Day Celebration. During the event, FCE Volunteers read One Night in the Everglades to the entire school, in 35 classrooms, reaching 721 PreK-5 students.
Xavier Cortada's CLIMA 2016 exhibit at the Milander Center for Arts and Entertainment in Hialeah, Florida featured science-inspired art works, including
works he created at three Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) sites: Florida Coastal Everglades LTER, Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest LTER, and H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest
