Mangroves

In the dry season, mangroves are the very recognizable part of the Florida Coastal
Everglades landscape and appear as a green highway to Florida bay, in the east
and to the Gulf of Mexico in the west.
Nutrients from mangroves fuel the food chain,
providing inorganic and organic elements to microscopic organisms and plants in the
Everglades ecosystem.
Mangroves are tropical and can be found only in the
subtropical part of Florida.
