Dwarf Mangroves

These are dwarf Red Mangroves and are found in fresher parts of the
Florida Coastal Everglades as opposed to the fringe mangroves found
in areas of greater tidal range like those at the Shark River mouth.
The water in the dwarf mangrove zone is a red to brown color from
the dissolved compounds that accumulate from the decomposition of
mangroves leaves and roots.
