Description:
Frustule is rectangular in girdle view, forming long chains that may exceed 20 individuals; valve is broadly elliptic to almost circular; sternum is distinct and zigzag-shaped; transapical striae are relatively robust; length is 1.5-4.5µm, breadth is 1.5-4.5µm; striae count is 18-25 in 10µm
