Description:
Valve is slender, strongly gibbous in the middle portion, with somewhat swollen and rounded ends; axial area is about 1/4 the valve breadth; raphe is filamentous, with "question mark"-shaped terminal fissures; central area is asymmetrical and rounded, about 1/3 the valve breadth; striae are almost parallel throughout most of the valve, radiate in the middle portion and slightly convergent at the ends, and are crossed by a broad band; length is 220-273µm, breadth at the centre of the valve is about 40µm; striae count is 6-7 in 10µm
