Description:
Valve is rhombic-lanceolate, narrowing sharply to rounded apices; axial and central areas are narrow but distinct; transverse striae are parallel to the raphe at the valve centre, sometimes becoming slightly convergent toward the valve ends, but radiate at the apices; length is 70-160µm, breadth is 15-30µm; striae count is 20-30 in 10µm (both transverse and longitudinal)
Notes:
valve shape appears more sharply tapered than is pictured in most references
