Description:

Valve is linear, needle-shaped, tapering a little to the rounded ends; pseudoraphe is very narrow, but distinct; central area is distinct, longer than broad, and bordered by very short striae; striae are parallel throughout the valve; length is 100-230µm (length-to-breadth ratio is 30-50:1); striae count is 11-14 in 10µm
