Description:
Valve is narrow and elongate to linear-lanceolate with rounded, obtuse ends; raphe branches are short, about 15-20µm, and connected by narrow siliceous rib (not variable in width as in other species); transverse striae are parallel throughout most of the valve, becoming somewhat radiate at the ends; longitudinal lines formed by the puncta are fine and very difficult to count; length is 80-140µm, breadth is 7-9µm; striae count is 37-40 in 10µm
