Description:
Valves semi-linear with broadly rounded ends deflected ventrally. Dorsal margin convex, flattened; ventral margin straight. Raphe branches slightly arched dorsally; proximal and distal ends bent dorsally. Axial area developed on ventral side; central area developed on the ventral side reaching the valve margin. Conopeum clearly visible as a longitudinal line running along the axial area. Dorsal striae parallel at the center becoming radiate towards the ends. Ventral striae present only near the ends, not always visible under LM.
Notes:
Common in surface sediments from Sprigger Bank, Florida Bay at water depth (< 2m) with relatively high salinity (30 - 40ppt.).
