Description:
Valves semi-elliptical to semi-lanceolate with truncate apices. Dorsal margin convex; ventral margin straight to slightly convex. Raphe branches straight. Axial area narrow, linear. Central area expanded dorsally in the form of a narrow fascia reaching the valve margin. Dorsal striae distinctly punctate and parallel; interrupted at the center by transapical fascia. Ventral striae very short, interrupted at the center, easily visible under LM.
Notes:
Rare in surface sediments from Trout Cove, Florida Bay with water depth < 1m and salinity ranging between 0 – 30ppt.
