Description:
Valves linear-lanceolate with drown out, capitate, ventrally bent poles. Dorsal margin convex, more or less flattened at the centre, ventral margin most of the time straight, sometimes slightly concave. Raphe filiform with branches delicately sloping upwards from the poles to the central nodule. Proximal and distal ends of the raphe are dorsally curved. Central pores of the raphe very small not well visible under LM. Axial area narrow, linear, central area absent on the dorsal side, on the ventral side bounded by the very short striae. Dorsal transapical striae punctate (puncta well visible under LM), almost straight or very slightly radiate at the centre, becoming stronger radiate towards the ends. Ventral striae short, very dense, hardly visible and impossible to count under LM. There is a axial rib running along the ventral margin with narrow conopeum which is not always well visible under LM
