Description:
Valves semi-lanceolate, with protracted, capitate ends. Dorsal margin convex, ventral margin straight. Raphe straight, terminal fissures bent dorsally, central fissures deflected dorsally. Conopeum warped up far from the valve face and widened towards the distal ends. Axial area narrow, linear; central area absent on the dorsal side, on the ventral side expanded (visible only under SEM). Dorsal striae very dense, hardly resolvable under LM, radiate throughout the valve, crossed by two costae easily visible under LM. Ventral striae very short, interrupted at the center, hardly visible under LM.
Notes:
Common in coastal mangroves with salinity between 15 - 20ppt and water depth < 0.3m.
