Description:
Valves linear-elliptic, with protracted, capitate ends slightly deflected ventrally. Dorsal margin convex and usually flattened at the center; ventral margin inflated at the center. Raphe branches straight, central endings bent dorsally, distal ends hooked dorsally. Central nodule distinct. Axial area linear, widening towards the central nodule; central area developed on the ventral side. Dorsal striae farther apart at the center radiate throughout the valve. Ventral striae short, dash-like, interrupted at the center. Conopeum well developed and clearly visible under LM as a longitudinal line running along the axial area.
Notes:
Common in coastal mangroves near Biscayne Bay, from sites with salinity 30 - 35ppt and water depth < 0.3m.
